Season 3 of #FutureOfPlay Direct is coming to you in June for Summer Game Fest 2022.

Future Of Play Direct is a bi-annual, Toonami-inspired showcase highlighting new ways to play and a freshly curated collection of games from across the galaxy — and you’re invited to bring along your games to the party!

Following the Direct’s launch at E3 and Summer Game Fest 2021, and a stellar sequel ahead of The Game Awards in December, we’re returning with more exciting updates and all the hype you’ve come to expect from this stylish broadcast. From new game announcements and trailers, to musical performances and guests, there’s something for everyone.

Thrilled to announce our resident VTuber and ageless android, Melios, will return to host and pre-game the show along with some very special guests!

The Direct will air during Summer Game Fest 2022 on Twitch and will be featured as a VOD on our YouTube channel afterwards. The call for submissions will close on April 18th at 11:59pm ET — don’t wait to share your game with us!

Games We Love

We love working with teams who have something to say and are making bold works with fresh perspectives for people who want more from their video games.

When selecting titles we look at gameplay, aesthetic and team composition – we often feature games and teams who know their players, understand their own strengths and showcase them with flair.

Content Options

1. Trailer Premiere

– A full length trailer showcasing never-before seen footage or announcing a new game
– What We Need: A full trailer in 1080p resolution, up to 90 seconds in length.

2. Short Spotlight or Teaser

– A short video slot for launch dates, platform announcements, content updates and more. Not a full length trailer but something tasty and bite-sized.
– What We Need: A video in 1080p resolution, between 30-60 seconds in length.

 3. Game Devs React Compilation

This option is ideal for already released games!

– Take part in our Game Devs React series, where devs read reviews, comments, and tweets about their game. During the Direct we will show a 2-3 minute compilation of some of our favorite moments from developers.
– Your solo “full-episode” will then air in the following weeks on our YouTube channel. We’ll let you know ahead of time when it’s scheduled.
– What We Need: A 30 minute recording session on Zoom (to be scheduled), a game image for the background (environment art is best), and a transparent game logo.

Please Note: If you’re choosing the GameDevs React option, it is recommended to let us know ASAP to allow time for recordings to be scheduled.

4. Hype Reel Spotlight

– For folks who don’t have much new footage to show but still want to be featured.
– This high energy 2 minute reel will play towards the end of our Direct, closing out the show.
– What We Need: a minimum of 30 seconds of footage from your game. This can be from existing trailers and gameplay. No new content is required!

Deadline

Applications will remain open until April 18th at 11:59pm ET. The final date to submit assets for those accepted into the showcase will be May 10th.
