The Moonrise Fund is going international! If you and your studio are registered in Canada or Australia, then we’d love to hear from you.
In 2021, we promised that we’d work towards unlocking new regions and with your support it’s finally happening. We’re grateful to have the opportunity to back developers from new regions and are excited to continue working towards building our own capacity to include even more territories in the future.
Please note, you’re encouraged to submit regardless of your location. If there’s interest, you’ll hear from us and your submission will be considered at the top of our list when we’re ready to expand further into new territories.

Tips from Moonrise Recipients
There’s nothing better than backing ambitious creators with fresh perspectives on play. And for us, this begins with setting you up with the best experience possible.
Here are a few anonymous tips from founding team members that have been successful in receiving checks from Moonrise:
“Take advantage of setting up a 15-minute call with the Moonrise team to introduce yourself and ask questions – yes, even before submitting an interest form. The idea isn’t to pitch but to use it as a low-pressure opportunity to say hi and see if it’s the right fit.”
“They [Moonrise team] wouldn’t stop asking about what we think is the future of play and who we’re making our games for…seems important and I suspect that it’s a part of their selection criteria.”
“Have good legal representation but also don’t be afraid to ask for help. We didn’t have a lot of money to get started so they [Moonrise team] paired us with pro-bono legal services to get through the process”
“We submitted an interest form three times before hearing back. The first time we kept it short by including links to previous projects. Second we sent an update that included a new team member who joined the studio. The third time around we fleshed out the story behind starting our studio, shared the types of games we wanted to make, and where we see ourselves growing as a team.”
Once you’re ready, submit to the Moonrise Fund Interest Form. If it’s a match and there’s also interest from our team, then you’ll hear from us within 30 business days to hop into a 60-minute call to discuss next steps.

We’re Working On It 😅
Due to the volume of interest, we’re unable to offer individual feedback and responses to everyone who submits a form. If there’s interest in your submission, you’ll receive a request to hop into a 60-minute call to discuss next steps within 30 business days.
Don’t be discouraged if you don’t hear back from us after submitting. The fund operates on a rolling basis and we review submissions year-round. Although the timing may not be right, we encourage you to stay in touch and resubmit by sharing updates as you progress on your development journey.
The good news is that we’re working diligently to create a sustainable way to offer responses and provide feedback to all in the future. Stay tuned!

Are you still writing checks and backing teams?
Yes! Moonrise is still backing teams and the team is chatting to a handful of exciting game developers. No big announcements just yet, but we’re looking forward to sharing more info in the coming months.
Can I contribute to the fund?
Yes, you can! If you’re interested in joining our creator-led cooperatively owned movement and playing a pivotal role in making a more inclusive creative economy, you can fill out our Moonrise Fund Backer Interest form (that takes less than 3 minutes to complete!)
Moonrise is a quarterly subscription based, “indie index” fund that follows a traditional fund model with a novel approach designed to take advantage of powerful new SEC regulations — allowing us make it faster, easier and more affordable than ever before to back the #FutureOfPlay.
When a spot becomes available, we’ll send you a Backer kit with additional information on the fund, co-investment opportunities, tax considerations, and external articles for you to dig into.
